Hi y’all + HAPPY FRIDAY! I am so excited to share my newest quilt project with you guys. It’s funny, I’ve really started to enjoy quilting (well, the actual piecing part of it, anyways); I think it’s because garments aren’t as easy to fit these days (hello, 38 week bump!). For this quilt, I chose to make it completely out of AGF Pure Elements and I went with a fall-ish theme. Typically I’d use a stark white background because I love how that looks, but I decided to change it up a bit and go with a sandstone/khaki color background. What do you think?
The Welded Quilt pattern that is featured here is a part of AGF Stitched, a collaboration between Art Gallery Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop. The pattern is FREE and there is even a YouTube video to go help you out even more in the stitching process.
This pattern was different (and I guess a bit more difficult) than any other quilt pattern I’ve sewn. This doesn’t mean much, because I really haven’t made that many quilts… BUT it only took me an afternoon to sew together, which I think is a pretty good deal, yeah? I love that the squares are on point and you can use so many different fabrics! The fabrics I used are all Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Elements and are listed as follows:
PE-444 (Peach Sherbet)
PE-443 (Sweet Mint)
The quilt was originally made to be sewn from Pat Bravo’s newest collection, Artisan, which is absolutely gorgeous!! You can see FQS’s version of that quilt here and even purchase the quilt kit!
I haven’t had the chance to have this baby quilted yet (on my to-do list!), but I have plans to back and bind it with this print from Katarina Roccella’s Imprint line.
