The heat is cranking up around here and the rain is starting to evaporate… which means one thing: SUMMER IS COMING! I love summer, but here in Texas they tend to be prettttttty warm. I am assuming it’s going to be the hottest.summer.ever. with this babe cooking inside of me, so I’m just preparing myself for that… as best I can (insert crazy-eye emoji here). As my belly is starting to get bigger, my wardrobe is starting to get smaller, so this weekend I whipped up a SUPER SIMPLE skirt out of some leftover knit fabric. I think it took less than a yard of fabric, and the shorter you make it, the less fabric it takes!
I shared this project in the Summer 2015 Stitch Magazine and ALSO have an instructional video on Craft Daily (currently ON SALE as of 5/4/15!) detailing how to sew one for yourself. They are seriously the most simple garments to make.. and I have a feeling I’ll be making MANY more for this season of life. It’s a great staple for maternity or non-maternity wear! This afternoon I’m excited to share that I’ll be on American Patchwork and Quilting Radio!! If you’re available to listen LIVE, it will be today (5/4/15) at 3PM CST. If you can’t make it live, but still want to listen in, you can download the podcast on iTunes. YAY!Alright, friends. That’s all I’ve got for today. Happy Sewing!
