Sewing Indie Month, May 2014

Hi Friends! I am excited to be announcing this awesome “thing” I am a part of this month! It’s going to be loads of fun for everyone (hint: there are contests + LOADS of prizes!!)
There are a group of 21 “Indie” designers (me included! what an honor to be grouped with these amazing ladies!) who will be creating tutorials and hosting interviews on their blogs throughout the month of May–>

To summarize below, there are four categories to enter your projects to win: An Indie Love Affair, Dressed to the Nines, Everyday Casual, and Pattern Hacking.   1. I was really happy to see that you were part of Sewing Indie month, because it gives me an excuse to sew your out and about dress. I’ve been on the fence about it for ages, not because I don’t want to sew it (I do) but because trying to buy knit fabric here is like trying to find gold in the river. It must be out there somewhere, but it’s hard to find and pricey when you do.

    I did actually luck in and found some purple jersey yesterday, but they only had 1.4m (it came to £18,20, because they now charge by the 10cm). Still, with an excuse to do the O&A dress, I’d be quite happy to try ordering some online.

    Sorry for the long and rambly message. I’m trying to avoid a job application :)
