Dressing For Spring

Last Fall I unknowingly started a little series on my blog called Dressing For… It was unintentional and was conceived by an evening to myself with my computer, a glass of wine, and Sister Wives playing in the background. BUT, these posts have become some of my very favorites to write. I get to dream up outfits to sew while styling them with items from my favorite stores. I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I do!

Dressing For Spring

“Dressing for Spring” Dress Pattern: Aubepine Dress by Deer and Doe // Dress Fabric: Robert Kaufman Chambray Union // Statement Necklace // TOMS Crochet Flats // Oh, Sweet Joy! Wire wrap headband

Dress Pattern: Nicola by Victory // Dress Fabric: AGF Studio Chic Floral // Lucky Brand Wedges // Transport Tote (or DIY HERE) // NS Pottery Adjustable Ring

These are a couple of Spring outfits that I hope make their way to my closet. I’ve had that Deer and Doe pattern sitting around for a while, begging me to make it. Maybe I’ll find some time in then next couple of weeks to whip one out! It really doesn’t look too difficult!

What are you planning on sewing for Spring?

  1. I love these posts too. Very helpful since my ADD kicks in when I fabric shop and I need to focus!

  2. Love these posts and am inspired to take up sewing clothing again after so many years. I love seeing your choice of fabric, pattern AND accessories!

  3. Ooooo! LOVE this! Genius series idea!

  4. I love it! I’ve sort of done the same myself. I know I want to sew the Colette Patterns Laurel Shift Dress in Amy Butler’s Mint Water Bouquet. I think its going to be my Easter Dress!

  5. Cute, cute, cute! I how you put together little inspiration boards for your projects!

  6. I have been thinking about late spring/ summer items I’d like to get started on. I think we will have to wait a little longer than you do for warm weather up her in the northwest. Chambray will play a significant part in my plans too. The one item I know I will make for certain is a knee length gathered skirt with a border print.

  7. I am ALL OVER chambray right now. Can’t wait til the weather warms up enough to break it out.
