Riding Peplum by April Rhodes

A few weeks ago, my friend April asked me to test one of her upcoming patterns.. I jumped on it because I love her + her style + the way she writes her patterns. Plus, over the past few months we’ve become pretty good friends– Man, I love the Internet! 😉

You’ve probably heard of her around here, because I’ve sewn her Staple Dress + Date Night Dress many times. Today, I’m sharing with you her *newest* pattern release, The Riding Peplum + Party Dress. In three words: I love it.

It accentuates the waist and hides the hips– a girl’s dream, right? Also, I’m loving the hi-low hemline of the semi-circle skirt bottom portion. Hello, amazing! This one feature here in Pat Bravo’s Rapture fabric is the first one I sewed. I have, however, since sewn a Peplum Party Dress out of red and white polka dotted double gauze that is quite possibly my most favorite dress ever. I’ll share more on that one later, though.

  1. Oh Caroline, this top is gorgeous! I must admit the peplum style top hasn’t interested me much but this one is on my sewing list now! I also love the fabric choice. You have inspired me to make so many things! Thanks x

  2. Oh my goodness, I want to make one of these so badly! It looks gorgeous and appears like it would flatter so many people. Maybe I will make it with the Clever Betty fabric I won.
