#sewingtalesbookbloghop :: Sewing Tales to Stitch and Love Blog Hop

A few weeks ago, Kerry emailed and asked me to promote her newest book, Sewing Tales to Stitch and Love. I immediately said “yes,” but started to worry that I wouldn’t know what to do with it when it arrived. A book full of stuffed animals?
The book arrived (along with some other AMAZING goodies) and I was wowed. I began flipping through and saw the cutest animals and whimsical creatures I’d ever seen. I couldn’t wait to get started!!

I decided to sew up Morton the Painted Turtle. Isn’t he a cutie?

Sewing smallish items is not my forte, but y’all, I loved sewing this little turtle. I was sent fabrics from Heather Bailey’s new Lottieda line and they were the perfect pairing for Morton. I even fussy cut the shell to show off one of the larger prints from the line!
All of the patterns are in the back of the book ready for you to enlarge. Tip for enlarging on your home printer: Print the page for 100% and then cut that paper into smaller pieces with one or two pattern pieces on each. THEN, place those back on your printer and enlarge to the correct size! Easy peasy!
Each of the patterns are so beautifully illustrated and written which makes them oh so easy to follow and sew!
Kerry’s new book is available on Amazon and I really hope you go check it out, it is so adorable and would be perfect to give for Christmas.. OR to make from and give for Christmas. Win-Win, y’all!
On another note, those Fiskars snippers are my favorite new tool. They’re sooo sharp and easy to use!
A special thanks to Fiskars, Dritz, Fairfield, Bosal, Free Spirit, and F+W Media for all of the absolutely amazing goodies that the blog hoppers were gifted with– love, LOVE it all!

  1. Morton is adorable. And great tip for the enlarging! I used about five pages to manipulate my one half-page-pattern into the right spots to get every piece! Ha!

  2. This book could not look more charming. I love it when bloggers that I love, like you, take part in a pattern tour about a subject matter less common to their site because it opens my eyes to a type of pattern I might not have thought about looking in to before.
