A Different, FAVORITE Washi Dress

Over the past year and a half (ish?) I’ve made several Washi Dresses (here, here, and a top here). But today, I’m bringing you what is probably my most favorite one! I grabbed the sleeve pattern from Rae’s blog (found here), added cuffs to it, and used an elastic casing instead of the shirring in the back and really love how it turned out! OH, and not to mention the amazing rayon fabric that I sewed it with.. the drape is to die for, I highly recommend sewing with it!

  1. I’ve sewn a washi, but is there any chance we can get a tutorial on how to edit it? I’m a basic skills sewer, but would love trying to modify a basic pattern to fit just a little better. Your Washi here looks so good!

  2. I love it! I have made two washi’s and have printed out the pattern piece for the longer sleeve but haven’t done it yet…I would love to get some tips on how you made your modifications.

  3. This is my first visit to tour blog. Please please tell me how you modified the back of this Washi! The shirring intimidates me and doesn’t look as nice as yours in my opinion. I LOVE what you did to the sleeves and a great fabric choice.

    1. I just added a casing of fabric (to the inside back waist) and inserted 1/4″ elastic that was cut smaller than the dress back bodice. Hope that helps!
