The One Piece Bag

Hi Pretties! I am excited to share with y’all on of my favorite recent projects. It all started a couple of weeks ago when I purged my closet + drawers. I have sometimes been called “the bag lady”, so when I got rid of an entire trash bag full of BAGS…. I knew I was doing something good. Within the purge of all my bags, I decided I needed to reward myself with another bag! ha ha! Actually, I was just in the mood for a new travel-type bag that could carry my computer, nook, + camera easily. I saw this new pattern, The One Piece Bag, and really loved the shape and size… so I decided to tackle it one Sunday afternoon!

Isn’t it cute? I sewed it with Anna Maria Horner Field Study fabric (big surprise).
A couple of changes I made: I shortened the straps a LOT. I am almost 5’8″ and when I made the straps the length the pattern called for the bag came down past my knees… um, no thanks. Also, I added two large pockets on the inside because, hello? who wants a bag with no pockets!?
Anyways, it came together really quickly + easily and I can’t wait to take it on our trip to Birmingham this upcoming weekend!
Have you found any patterns you just can’t live without recently?

  1. i love this and all the different fabrics! how long did it end up taking you? i’m awful at reading/understanding patterns so i might double your time estimate to get a good idea of how long it would take me 😉

  2. I have been SEARCHING for a bag that would carry everything I need for the day… this seems perfect… maybe i’ll tackle this pattern this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration, lady!

  3. Where can I find this pattern for The One Piece Bag. My search was unsuccessful. I would like to make this bag.
