I have a stock-pile of things to blog about, but somehow I just haven’t been motivated to get pen-to-paper (or fingers to key pad?) this week. Hopefully I’ll have some time this weekend to get some things on here for next week. Also my emails? If you’re waiting on one from my I am terribly sorry. Hoping to get around to that this weekend, as well. Sometimes life gets in the way, you know? Thanks for being understanding.
I am PUMPED about these shorts I am blogging about today!! I bought this fabric (Anna Maria Horner linen) for backing a quilt and quickly realized that this fabric is waaaaayyyy too pretty to go on the back of a quilt. SO, I decided to make a fun pair of Summer shorts.
This was the first time I’ve sewn a Colette pattern and I would HIGHLY recommend them. She is SO detailed and makes sewing these babies a breeze!
There are pockets on the front, an invisible zipper closure on one side, two darts in the back, and a fitted waistband to hold them up.
One tip I have is to MAKE A MUSLIN FIRST. These are very fitted shorts, but if they fit you, they fit wonderfully. Make a practice pair and go from there. I went up a size than I normally would wear and am so glad that I did. I love the way they fit and how easily they go on. They’re just beautiful, I think!
