Handmade at QuiltCon Part 1

The rest of the week I’m going to be sharing the handmade outfits I wore at QuiltCon. Hope you guys don’t get sick of seeing my face all over here, but I absolutely loved how all of my outfits turned out, sooo I’m going to share them!
Here’s the thing. Wearing handmade is hard sometimes. You don’t want it to look handmade, but in a sense, there’s no way around it (especially when you’re wearing bright fabrics that other people have seen before). Its been a struggle for me since I began sewing clothes for myself. I’m always asking David, “Does this look like I made it?!” I have to say that recently (maybe the past 6 months) is the first time I’ve really felt confident in my handmade threads.
So here goes day ONE!

Tank & Shoes: Target // Skinnies: Anthro (Pilcro brand)
I have made this pattern SEVERAL other times, but I love it so much, that I keep making it!
For QuiltCon, it was a great pattern to showcase some of the beautiful fabric we have in our shop.
Although it is handmade and its kind of obvious, I was still confident to wear it out after the show during the day!
Stay tuned for a few more outfits this week!

  1. I can remember back when I first started sewing {about 20 years ago <--- HOLY CRAP I'M OLD!} that was one of my concerns as well. The ability for people to look at my clothes and say... she made that. I guess it's a confidence thing, because now it's not such an issue. I think you look fantastic in this!! I'm excited to see the rest of the weeks outfits!

  2. I’m with you! I’m always trying to make homemade things that don’t look homemade haha. This turned out great. I really love the shape of the pattern too.

  3. You are such an inspiration, I love this top. I must have seen it more than ten times I kept on checking it out.
