How Does it Sew?! :: The Rie Dress & Top

I got inspired this summer to SEW MORE PATTERNS. So. That’s what we do here in this series!
This started out as a Summer thang but I thought it would be fun to periodically sew up some new patterns & show them off on this little series!

Today’s post is kind of funny.
See, I was in Denver a couple of weeks ago for a wedding and spent some time at Fancy Tiger Crafts. I saw this pattern designer that I’d never heard of & thought, “Hey, THAT’S cute!”
So, I bought the pattern. Found some jersey knit. Got to sewing.
When it was all said and done, I looked at the cover of the pattern and realized it was a maternity top.
Oops.
I realized that, in fact, the girl who designed this said pattern ONLY (well mostly only) designs maternity clothing.
So, there’s that.
Not to fret, though, I belted that sucker and no one knows my secret. Except you, of course 😉

It was a simple tunic to sew & I really love how the bodice ended up looking!
Pregnant, or not, I’d recommend this pattern to a beginner or advanced seamstress. Its fast & simple!
